Two Brothers Arrested on Suspected Burglary and Theft Charges

04/28/2011

The Drew County Sheriff's Department arrested two brothers, Jonny L. Williams, age 19, and Demario K. Johnson, age 23, both of Lake Village, for residential burglary and theft of property in the Collins community.

The Drew County Sheriff's Department received a call on April 20th from a concerned neighbor stating that she had seen two subjects in her neighbor's yard. Since she knew her neighbors were not home, she wrote down the license plate number and advised deputies that their vehicle was headed towards Dermott on Highway 35 East. Deputies then called Dermott Police Department to ask for assistance in looking for the vehicle. Dermott Police Department officers were able to stop and detain the vehicle just over the Drew-Chicot County line. Deputies observed items in the back seat of the vehicle that had been stolen from the residence they had just left in Collins.

Both Williams and Johnson were transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where they were both charged with residential burglary and theft of property. Both were taken before District Judge Ken Harper and give a bond of $5,000. Both have bonded out at the time of this press release.

Sheriff Gober would like to thank Dermott Police Department for their assistance in apprehending these suspects.
