Suspected Drug Dealer Arrested Near Church

On April 16th, the Drew County Sheriff's Department conducted an early morning search warrant at a residence located near The Revival Center at 618 East Pauline Street after Sheriff Mark Gober received information about possible drug activity at the home. Sheriff's authorities entered the home at approximately 7:00 A.M. while the two residents of the home were still asleep.

During the search, officials discovered what appeared to be five individually wrapped crack cocaine rocks, two individually wrapped small bags of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and a loaded 9-mm pistol which was reported stolen out of Bradley County.

Arrested at the scene were Leodis Moseley, age 50 of Monticello, and Lashaundra Watson, age 32 also of Monticello. Both Mosely and Watson were transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where they both were charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, proximity to certain facilities and theft be receiving. Mosely was also charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons.

After being taken for a first appearance in front of District Judge Ken Harper, Watson received a bond of $1,500 and Mosely received a $100,000 bond. Watson was released that same day but Mosely still remains in jail.
