Duo Goes on Shooting Spree in County

02/12/2010

On the morning of February 8, two Drew County home owners reported to the Drew County Sheriff's Department that their homes had been shot during the early morning hours. During the course of the investigation, deputies were led to a residence located on Sid Caperton Road. After conducting interviews with four people at the residence, Corey Hall, age 22 of Star City, was arrested. During the search of the residence, deputies recovered two weapons possibly used in the shootings. On February 10, Remmel Grayson, age 23 of Star City, was also interviewed and arrested.

It is believed that Corey Hall obtained a firearm from his grandmother's home and got into a vehicle with Remmel Grayson. The pair drove to a home located on Highway 172 near Possum Valley where Hall is believed to have shot twice at the residence occupied by a father and son. One bullet hit a vehicle in the front yard and the other bullet hit the side of the house. They then continued to another home located on Ras Pace Road where, again, Hall is believed to have shot twice at a mobile home occupied by three residents. It is reported that Hall had personal conflicts with the occupants of both homes.

After being taken into custody, Hall and Grayson were transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. Both Hall and Grayson were taken before District Judge Ken Harper where he set Hall's bond at $200,000 and Grayson's bond at $5,000. Hall remains in jail but Grayson posted bond February 10.
