UPDATE - Routine Traffic Stop Results in Drug Arrest

Detraveone L. Simmons, age 23 of Monticello, who was arrested August 7 by Drew County Sheriff's deputies during a traffic stop has been charged by the Prosecuting Attorney with possession of a controlled substance as a habitual offender and tampering with physical evidence. Both of these crimes are felony offenses. 


 

On August 7, Drew County Sheriff's Department arrested Detraveone Simmons, age 23 of Monticello, during a routine traffic stop. During the stop, Simmons became disorderly and was placed under arrest. During a pat-down search, a small bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was found in his possession. Simmons was transported to Drew County Detention Facility. Simmons was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, and driving while intoxicated. Bond was set at $2,500.
