Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop

On Thursday, April 26 at approximately 11:15 pm, Drew County Sheriff deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle that did not have tag lights. As a deputy was trying to identify the two passengers of the vehicle, he noticed that they were acting suspiciously. After gaining permission from the driver to search his vehicle, deputies observed a crack pipe lying in the passenger floorboard. One of the passengers, Amber M. McMahon, 32 of Monticello, told the deputy that is was her crack pipe. When the deputy ran McMahon’s information, it was discovered that she was wanted on a warrant out of Eureka Springs for failure to appear on possession of an instrument of crime charges. The deputy then arrested and transported McMahon to the Drew County Detention Facility where she was charged with possession of an instrument of crime. She was release on a $665 bond on April 27th.
