Man Arrested After Fight at Fairgrounds

On Sunday, March 11th at approximately 1:00 AM, Drew County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified that an officer needed assistance with a fight that had occurred after a fraternity party at the Drew County Fairgrounds. Deputies at the fairgrounds observed Christopher Washington, 19 of Crossett, fighting with another individual. Washington began resisting authorities as they tried to restrain him. Washington tried to flee deputies and then turned and struck one of the deputies. Washington was restrained and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. He was charged with assaulting an officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, battery 3rd degree, and fleeing. Washington was taken for a first appearance before District Court Judge Ken Harper who gave him a $100,000 bond. Washington remains in jail at the time of this press release.
