03/06/2012

On Friday, March 2nd, a Drew County Sheriff’s Deputy received information that Bryan W. Wright, 31 of Rison, was at the Economy Inn in Monticello trying to sell Morphine pills. While patrolling the area, the deputies noticed Wright’s vehicle leaving the motel and they then initiated a traffic stop. After obtaining permission to search the vehicle, deputies discovered what appeared to be morphine pills in Wright's backpack. A small bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and a marijuana pipe were also found in a hidden compartment in the dashboard of the vehicle.

Wright was placed under arrest and was transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wright was given a bond of $500 and bonded out of jail that same night.
