Two Women Arrested for Stealing from Cemetary

01/17/2012

On January 12, Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober received a call reporting that Angela Cessor, of Dermott, and Komah Milholland, of Monticello, might be stealing scrap metal from private property located across from Lone Sassafrass Cemetary. Sheriff Gober drove to the area where he saw Milholland’s truck parked on the side of the road. After seeing scrap metal, a large metal garbage receptacle, and a plastic bag containing two decorative brass urns in the truck, Gober arrested the women and they were then transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. While being interviewed at the Detention Facility, Milholland admitted that they planned to sell the scrap metal, they did take the trash receptacle from Lone Sassafrass Cemetary, and that the urns were taken from the Union Ridge cemetery.

Both Milholland and Cessor were charged with theft of property, removal of a grave marker, and 1st degree criminal mischief. Komah Milholland was given a bond of $1500. She is still in jail at the time of this press release. Angela Cessor has been transported to the Department of Community Corrections Technical Violators Program for parole violations.
