On the night of August 6, Drew County Sheriff Department deputies responded to a report of a fight at a residence located at 246 State School Road. When deputies arrived on scene they made contact with the suspect, Lana Craig, age 38 of Monticello. Craig told deputies that the residence belonged to her mother and that her mother and another female subject inside would not let Craig inside home. Craig became angry and kicked the door and began fighting the female subject.

With information revealed at the scene deputies were able to search her vehicle. Deputies found numerous pills and pill bottles as well as a small clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance with a reddish tint believed to be methamphetamine. A field test performed on the substance tested positive for methamphetamine. Craig was arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility where she was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. Clark was taken for a first appearance and given a bond of $1,500. She bonded out on August 8th.
