Two Thefts, One Suspect

08/04/2011

Drew County Sheriff Department was dispatched to 136 Collins Main Street in the Collins area for a reported theft. A resident of the house stated that Lisa Clark, age 25 of Collins, was visiting him and had left around 7:30 AM. When the resident woke up that afternoon he noticed that his grey toolbox with tools and his wallet inside were missing from under his bed.

A deputy went to Clark’s residence and questioned her about the missing toolbox, tools, and wallet. She told the deputy that she did not take the property in question but she did take some pills from another resident nearby the same day.

During the course of his investigation and questioning the different victims, the deputy noticed a grey toolbox with the lid broken located in the ditch approximately 300 feet from Clark’s residence. Clark was arrested and transported to the Drew County Detention Facility. Clark admitted that she took the grey toolbox from the house because she thought it was the box which had prescribed medication in it. When asked when and how she was able to get access to the medications, Clark stated that she went over to a neighbor’s residence to get some sugar and while the resident was in the kitchen she got the pills.

Clark was with theft of property on both incidents. She was released on August 6th after posting a $1,000 bond.
